Training a dog to be aggressive isn’t half as hard as training one NOT to be aggressive.

If you bought a big or aggressive breed of dog for protection it does no good if he/she can’t be near you, around people when it’s time to protect you.
What is the best training method?
Is it food reward? Is it praise and correction with training collar (choke chain)? Is it praise and correction with pinch collar? Is it praise and correction with shock collar? Is it dog psychology? Finally is it dog whispering? Basically they all work. If they didn’t people wouldn’t be using them. The difference comes down to the person applying the praise and correction. This is where experience is invaluable and reading books alone isn’t enough.
Any highly experienced trainer can and does utilize at times more than one method for problem solving and training. Problem solving is different than training. A well trained dog can still have behavioral problems just as a well behaved dog might not be well trained. When selecting a trainer for your dog, ask not only about training methods but also about behavior changing methods. If you don’t feel comfortable with their methods or experience then get a second or third opinion
