Training a dog to be aggressive isn’t half as hard as training one NOT to be aggressive.

If you bought a big or aggressive breed of dog for protection it does no good if he/she can’t be near you, around people when it’s time to protect you.
Creatures of Habit
Often when we say that someone is a creature of habit, it is taken as an insult by the person we are referring to. Very few people like to admit that they are predictable. However this is exactly the opposite for dogs. They are in fact creatures of habit and once they get used to a schedule of events in their life it becomes very stressful when that scheduled is changed.
This is one of the most important things to consider when getting a dog. Being able to keep your dog on a routine will speed your training considerably. Keeping a scheduled routine will also help alleviate anxiety issues such as chewing and digging. However it’s this same need that can create those issues. If your dog knows when you are leaving for they day it may become anxious the closer it gets to that time. If you are having behavior issues consult a professional trainer or animal behaviorist about possible solutions to the problem. Make sure to let them know what the dog’s average day consist of and also what your schedule consist of.
