Training a dog to be aggressive isn’t half as hard as training one NOT to be aggressive.

If you bought a big or aggressive breed of dog for protection it does no good if he/she can’t be near you, around people when it’s time to protect you.
Who’s in Charge?
Just as there will be always people who need to be in charge, so will there be dogs
that desperately need to be in charge. Being in charge to a dog means getting its
way. That means getting all of the food it desires, whenever desired, getting to
sleep or sit wherever desired, getting to urinate and defecate wherever desired,
getting to come and go whenever desired, and getting you to feed and clean up after
him/her whenever needed. In order to protect this status a bossy dog might keep out
any and every outsider from its domain, for their presence might mean the end of
the dog's reign.
Unless you are a professional trainer or plan to have you and your
dog trained by a professional, it is widely recommended that you get a passive and
submissive dog who only wants to please you. These dogs can be just as good of protectors
but with half of the headaches. They protect because of love and desire to please
not because they feel their position is being threatened.
